The all universities have come under the strict radar to change their courses and programs to make them adjustable to global colonizing curriculum. This primary goal is to remove the gap between the white students and black ones, and it would remove the minority ethnic issues which have arisen currently. The new efforts are started to reveal the British history that is full of injustices and is also appreciating the efforts put forward by the black British people in the response of support of Black people of America as it would extend the immediate assistance to Black Lives Matters movement.

Instructors and learners said the Guardian’s results replicated unwillingness in British higher education towards talking the influence of colonialism on modern-day racism. They claimed that universities are keeping an eye on the decolonizing curriculum that is gaining popularity among the scholars and teachers of lists and the challenges and premises should involve the reforms. These challenges and improvements were an active part of the colonial and imperial system at educational levels. According to analysts, the universities are failed to implement the rules to support the decolonizing laws fully. Only 24 out of 128 universities get requests from Freedom of information (FOI) have shown that they desired to get support for decolonizing curriculum. About 11 were devoted to encourage changes for the institutions, with more struggles restricted to some fields, and a few students and scholars are supporting the cause.

Initial decolonizing term and its usage

According to Queens Mary University of London have claimed that the decolonizing term was restricted to the school of English genre and drama, whilst the Newman university has said that one program is making the references to the decolonizing the curriculum and the one course is related to the English department. The University of East London has also made claims of running the decolonizing programs in the training workshops of artistic schools and the digital industrial schools.

Institutions willing to encourage decolonizing

Only 9 of these universities had shown their full plans to promote decolonizing in writing the Bristol University has succeeded in describing the term in their formal strategic planning, and another two universities are contributing towards decolonizing coursework. As the Rhodes Must fall, movement has started the experts has shown the results of only fewer chances of progression. The higher education has demonstrated little development in making a forward step in decolonizing the higher education.

There was an immense increase in demand for elimination of the statue of the Victorian imperialist Cecil Rhodes from Oxford University’s Oriel College initiated in 2015.

Sunny Singh, the professor of creative script and presence in the arts at London Metropolitan University, one of the universities devoted to decolonizing has said that instead of the small amount of reluctance a department, the higher education in the united kingdom is relaxed or not troubled, if not vigorously antagonistic, to the notion of decolonization. He also appreciated the work done by the University, and his work is encouraged due to the enormous struggle he has put forward while teaching at the University for several years.

However, the other universities more than 80 has said that these are devoted to bring another type of reforms in their curriculum and courses to make their study curriculum more widespread and international and it could be acknowledged by all people worldwide due to its diversity. About 106 universities are stable on their decolonizing reforms support, and only 35 have said that BAME student initially were involved in the movement but for only limited time to get fringe benefits for them.

More than 30 universities are offering clinical training to the members of staff and imparting them comprehensive training of diverse and broad courses and only nine universities have made it essential to get vital training and designing courses to implement all reforms.

True essence of decolonization

Decolonizing is to spread the Eurocentric awareness all around and it is accomplished by varying forms and bases of ideas and it is more acknowledged by the scholars and thinkers who are more involved in the promotion of reforms.

Fope Olaleye, black students’ captain at the National Union of Students, said the absence of development was “appalling”. “Decolonizing the curriculum is offering the exact depiction of history, and in case learners and teachers should be provided with the equipment to recognize how universities create colonial pyramids.

It would pass them enough courage to oppose them and eliminate the status quo, and it would be more efficient to reflect our diverse knowledgeable society. More than twenty universities have announced that these were not making any progress their plans and these were not indulged in any reforming movements to bring changes in the current curriculum.

Rebecca Long-Bailey, Labor’s shadow teaching administrator, said: “Black and Asian persons and their history are enormously understated in college circles and all over our edification system. It is very vital to understand the roots of British history to study the injustices and racism in the society. The world should acknowledge the Breadth of British history to find the real causes of racism in our community.

Prof Kalwant Bhopal, the director of the Centre for investigation in race and education at Birmingham University, has discouraged the results and analysis of each sector as calling these appalling and shocking. He also suggested involving the strategic planning in all universities vital curriculum. But unfortunately, universities are not making it necessary as these are ignoring these due to their benefits.

Most of universities are working hard to make their curriculum diverse and globally acknowledged and international based. We are encouraging the reflection of different culture and customs by promoting reforms and changes in our curriculum.
