Hi everyone! My name is Chantel Doyle and I am a third year veterinary student from Corner Brook, Newfoundland and Labrador. For as long as I can remember I have loved working with and around animals, which led me to Memorial University where I received my Bachelors Degree in Biology.
I have a passion for large animal medicine and developed a love for dairy cows while working for five years on a large-scale dairy farm just prior to starting at the Atlantic Veterinary College. I am very excited to take my experience in cow comfort, mastitis prevention and disease management to Kenya and do my part to help improve the well being of the cows and the livelihoods of the farmers and their communities.
In addition to the dairy cows, I am also very excited about being immersed in Kenyan culture for three months. during the summer of 2019, interning with UPEI and Farmers Helping Farmers under the supervision of Dr. John Vanleeuwen. I have heard so much about the joyous singing and dancing, amazing food and overall kind demeanour of the people and cannot wait to experience it for myself!
