2024 Phase 3

In 2024, a new contribution agreement was signed between Farmers Helping Farmers (FHF – a partner on this QES project in Kenya) and Global Affairs Canada (GAC). The “Gender-Responsive One Health” project succeeded in obtaining over $7M to enhance One Health knowledge, attitudes and practices in Kenya and Ethiopia. This funding is the largest amount that FHF ever received from the Canadian government, and will allow FHF to expand efforts to other areas of Meru County, and with other Dairy Groups, women’s groups, and schools, with a focus on gender-responsive one health. Partners in the project are FHF, AVC/UPEI, the Ontario Veterinary College, the UoCalgary Veterinary College, the Western College of Veterinary Medicine in Saskatoon, and Alinea International.
